About the Project

Massage therapy relieves pain and stress and helps people relax their muscles after day-long working, which is a far better alternative to prescription drugs or surgery on early treatment. But it does not work for everyone for multiple reasons:

  • Price
    It's too expensive for long-term therapy. Not everyone can aford it.
  • Schedule
    Some people may be too busy to make an appointment in the daytime, and usually people just need it at night after work.
  • Privacy
    Due to privacy concerns, some people may fell unsafe to be naked with a stranger.

Reasons above motivates the research on massage robots. This project is to design a head massage robot applying massage therpy on people's head, so that people can enjoy head massage at home anytime they want.

The project was done during my intern at Xbot Park, a Robotics company. The model will be modified, prototyped and hopefully, will be available on the market in the future.
